Moon
Went to see Moon on Wednesday at an awesome place in Guelph – The Bookshelf. The Bookshelf is a bookstore, café, bar and cinema. They like to show movies that are not in wide release. The bookstore is decent but no romance section. I’ll be working on that.
But I digress.
The movie was great. A little slow to get started but it needed to be that way to show us the isolation and loneliness Sam Bell feels. It did a great job at that. I thought GERTY was a little too helpful once Sam discovered something was wrong. And maybe even before that. Some of Sam’s hallucinations didn’t make sense. I don’t want to give any spoilers so I won’t say which ones. I know hallucinations as a rule don’t make sense of course, because they’re hallucinations, but some of them just shouldn’t have been there. Yes, they hinted at something but he should not have had that knowledge as far as I’m concerned. He gave no clues that he “knew” what was going on even on a subconscious level. So how could he hallucinate what he hallucinated? And there was a setup that I was waiting to be paid off that never was. Other than that I thought it was a great movie.
Off to work. And then in for a relaxing (I hope) weekend.
Until next time…
Cindy
