Citizen Police Academy
I’m thrilled to have been accepted to the citizen police academy. Classes start tomorrow. The classes are run through Community Policing/Public Safety Education. During the twelve week course we’ll learn all about policing in our neighbourhoods. Topics we’ll learn about include: use of force training, interactive training scenarios, firearms demonstration, a day in the life of a police officer, identity theft and fraud, intelligence and many more.
The writer in me can’t wait for classes to start. I want to have perfect attendance for the first seven classes so my name can be put in a draw for a ride a long. I’ll be taking copious notes for the whole course. Anything could spark an idea, help a plot problem or be something I need later on.
I’ll be giving updates on some of the things we learn in later blog posts.
Now, must get to work.
